Design of Piping Systems and Pipe Stress Analysis (15th-18th July)

This course covers a very broad subject of the design of piping systems. Starting with definition of the system, piping project anatomy, documentation and design life cycle. The course looks and various aspects of system development, for each stage identifying key considerations and calculation requirements. Design of safe and efficient piping systems relies on a lot of good engineering judgement, the course presents students with key considerations and provides a decision making process to help substantiate design decisions. Design of piping systems is a multidisciplinary activity, although our course is focused on the mechanical and process engineering aspect we cover subjects of: Instrumentation and Control, Structural assessment and Technical Safety to provide students with a holistic understanding of the system design process.

The course covers the design of piping components to ASME B31.3 and Pipe Stress Analysis using CAESARII.
