Denholm MacNamee Announces Significant Addition to Fleet

Posted by Lesley Eaton

A leading provider of innovative asset cleaning and decontamination solutions has announced a significant addition to its fleet of Aberdeenshire-based products.

Denholm MacNamee, which is based in Inverurie, has invested in a third hydraulic dozer system which will further enhance the company's efficiency and capability in its busy tank cleaning business.

The steel framed dozer system is a purpose-built tank cleaning tool for large diameter above ground crude oil storage tanks and is the proven fastest and most efficient way to carry out de-sludging operations.  With working pressure of 140 bar, typical de-sludging rates of up to 200m³ per day can be achieved with an experienced operator and the system is certified in accordance with the latest ATEX Directives (including BSEN13643:1, EN50021, ISO9001 and BSEN13980) whilst the dozer itself is classified as a CAT 2 Group II item of equipment.  Power is supplied via a 100m umbilical housed in a fully certified anti-static sleeve and connected to the tail or mast of the vehicle.  The umbilical contains the hydraulic feed and return hoses, as well as a wire braided breathing air-line for the operator.

Commenting on the addition, Denholm MacNamee managing director Brian Ritchie said: “Our decision to make this significant investment in a third dozer has come about due to high levels of demand for the existing pair which are very busy on projects and available for hire outwith these times, thus minimising their ‘down time.'

“This piece of equipment is designed to fit through a 24” manway, removing the typical need for two people to navigate a stripped down mover through the manway then reassemble it once inside the tank.  Using this method, only the vehicle operator remains in the tank once the kit is assembled meaning a more efficient, time-effective solution.

“Central to the success of our dozer systems is the simplicity of their design which enables them to be adapted to meet the needs of the job in hand including the addition of specially designed units as per customer requirements.

“We are confident that the addition of this third unit will further enhance our ability to react quickly and efficiently to the needs of our clients.”
