Viking SeaTech, a global provider of marine services to the energy sector, has continued its global expansion by setting up a new office in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.
As part of this growth, the company has appointed industry expert Craig Smith to a newly-created post as Marine Projects Manager to head up increased business activity in the region.
For more than 10 years, Viking SeaTech has been providing services in the region, working in association with its local sales representative NOSO Ltd and this will build on that work.
Craig, a Canadian Master Mariner who has more than 20 years' marine experience, joins the company in response to growing demand for Viking SeaTech's services in Newfoundland. This new appointment will see the company deliver a full range of services to clients through its own dedicated local support.
A native Newfoundlander who graduated in Nautical Science from the Marine Institute in St John's, Craig has a wealth of experience in senior roles. He worked as an OIM for Transocean Canada for a number of years, developing particular expertise in rig move procedures. Before being appointed OIM he gained considerable offshore marine experience in a variety of other positions with Transocean. Prior roles saw him gain experience on a global level in a range of onshore and offshore projects.
