VFD delivery within four workdays
In early September 2020, the Oil Dynamics GmbH supported a customer to restart his production in Northern Germany. The client's pump was broken-down and on this occasion, the OD team delivered a new variable-frequency drive (VFD) fitting an already available electric submersible pump (ESP). Less than a week passed between receiving the order and the actual transport. The delivery, complete assembly, connection, tests and handover took place within just four workdays. The customer's productivity increased immediately.
The installation in Northern Germany happened in accordance with the customer's requirements on site, using an existing enclosure while meeting German electrical and safety standards with Oil Dynamics' ElektroMotion Technology ESP smartDRIVE. The aforementioned features selected high-quality components from global market leaders and is therefore distinguished with high reliability and durability. The installation of the VFD occurred as scheduled in parallel to the RIH of an ESP. Additional customer wishes the OD workers implemented flexibly implemented directly on site.
The provided smartDRIVE delivers now 260A and 171kVA continuous power at 400V input voltage. Thus, it offers large power reserves for the current application plus various options for the future. It can be can be operated remotely and locally via a large integrated color touch screen. Thanks to the integrated sensor data card, the plant operator can use the figures from the pump sensor for process control and for pump protection. The supplied VFD has a total of 19 digital and analog inputs and outputs.
Oil Dynamics' ElektroMotion Technology ESP smartDRIVE Gold comes with mains AC-chokes on the input side, DC-link chokes for the intermediate circuit and a du/dt sinusoidal wave filter on the output side. These additional components protect neighboring electronics on the input side and extend the service life of the ESP motor by reducing harmful voltage peaks on the output side. Experienced Oil Dynamics technicians arrived on site with much more than just the actually required tools and components what made them complete the project easily. After finishing the electrical installation, the same staff programmed the VFD to the customer's requirements and established the data connection to the existing control system. In general, OD builds Variable Frequency Drives in various voltage and amp sizes at its location in Hockenheim, Germany, for any type of demand. Experienced electrical specialists in turn carry out installation and maintenance for well-known international customers. Clients can usually order the VFDs together with the corresponding Oil Dynamics pumps (ESP, HPS etc.).
