GQS, a leading provider of technical, quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) services to the worldwide energy sector has started the new decade on a strong note after winning a major multi-year contract with Premier Oil.

The contract, won following a competitive tender process, will see the UK division of GQS provide a full range of Third Party QA & QC services to Premier Oil's on and offshore assets across the world.

It includes provision of QA/QC personnel, expediting and equipment, inspection and support services.

This first significant contract win of 2020 follows on from a year which saw GQS undergo a major rebrand, move to new office premises in Aberdeen and bring additional staff onto the team in anticipation of company growth.

GQS UK Managing Director Andy Weir praised the hard work and dedication of the team and said the contract was awarded based on the company's reputation, its proven past performance, timely delivery of services and the comprehensive range of services it provides to clients.

“There is an existing strong relationship between GQS and Premier Oil,” he said. “Winning this contract gives us the opportunity to build on that relationship and to reinforce the high level of trust and performance which we have developed with them.

“We have proven that we can successfully deliver the services that are required, to the very highest standards. The scope of the Premier Oil contract is extensive, and we are well-equipped to deal with identified workscopes and other requirements that will arise over the coming years.

“In recent years, the oil and gas sector has seen significant changes which means the industry is focusing on smarter, safer, more effective and cost-effective ways to work. In response to this, GQS has consolidated its core services and proactively expanded our range of bolt on services to better serve our customers. Our aim is to deliver enhanced value, reduce risks and provide innovative solutions to organisations and their contractors.”

A spokesperson for Premier Oil said: “Premier Oil is delighted to have awarded this contract to GQS following a full tender process. We have been impressed with their delivery and professionalism over the years and look forward to continuing our relationship with them.”

In addition to delivering cost-effective Second and Third Party Inspection Services, GQS also provides Technical Audits, Quality Management Consultancy, Expediting and Verification & Design services.  The company has a network of worldwide offices in the UK, Australia, Malaysia and the USA.

The company is ISO 9000:2015 accredited and is a UKAS ISO/IEC 17020 Accredited TYPE ‘A' Inspection body authority.
