Deep Casing Tools bolsters presence in Asia Pacific

Aberdeen-based oil and gas technology development company, Deep Casing Tools (DCT), has announced the appointment of two agents as part of strategic growth plans in the Asia Pacific region.

DCT has appointed EFTECH, a provider of drilling services and optimisation, as its partner in Malaysia, while R&D Solutions has been selected as the company's agent in Australia. Large in-country premises will allow DCT to store equipment at this base, enabling rapid technology mobilisation to serve local customer demand.

DCT has built a strong track record over the last decade using simple innovation and expertly engineered technology to help oil and gas operators drill more wells, successfully. With average cost savings of half a million dollars, and time savings of 75% per well, the demand for DCT's solutions continues to grow as the industry resets within a new operating normal.

Its technology suite includes the Turbocaser™, Turborunner™, MechLOK Drill Pipe Swivel™, TD Pilot and Disposable PDM™, all of which have been developed to enable efficient well construction and completion.

Also in development are the SelfLOK Flotation Device™, designed to help float liners to target depth more cost-effectively and the Casing Cement Breaker™, DCT's first foray into the plugging and abandonment sector.

David Stephenson, CEO at DCT said: “Asia Pacific is an area of huge potential for DCT in the coming years and it's important that we demonstrate reliable, on-the-ground capability to our growing customer base.

“Partnering with these well-established, trusted agents represents a major milestone for us as we look to gain a stronghold in the region.

“Scaling our business globally has been a key objective throughout 2019 and will continue in the long-term, and we're excited to be making significant progress in this respect.”

Ts. Sa'aid Hazley Abdul Talib, Managing Director at EFTECH Drilling solutions: “I am very much excited about EFETCH's & DCT's business and technical partnership.

Ts. Mohamad Sukor Zainal, Executive Director at EFTECH Drilling solutions said: “This is an exciting new chapter for both companies. This partnership combines local drilling expertise from EFTECH and state of the art target depth technology from DCT, which will meet growing demand in the Asia PAC region”.

Russell Furner, Director and Managing Partner of R&D Solutions commented “We look forward to working together with Deep Casing Tools: R&D Solutions now has a new workshop and a warehouse facility in Perth, which we opened to facilitate the venture with DCT and to meet the growing demand for the technology across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.”
