Plans are forging ahead for the Energy Institute (EI) Aberdeen, Highlands and Islands branch Annual Dinner on Thursday 2 March 2017 – and the event is being billed as offering an “out of this world” experience!

It has just been announced that previously confirmed speakers Chevron Upstream Europe Managing Director Greta Lydecker and Steve Holliday VP of the Energy Institute and former CEO of National Grid will be joined by Statoil Production UK MD Hedda Felin who will talk about the NASA in Aberdeen project – “Inspiring the next generation”. Joining Ms. Felin will be three NASA VIPs.

The popular annual black tie gathering at Aberdeen's Marcliffe Hotel & Spa has a notable track record of attracting exceptionally high profile speakers and delegates, making the dinner widely regarded as one of the industry's premier events in North East Scotland.

Tickets are selling fast for what is regularly a sell-out evening, and prompt booking is advised to avoid disappointment. Commenting on preparations for the occasion, branch chairman Laurie Mackay CEng FEI said: “These exciting additions to our programme further underline this date's place as one of the highlights of the local business calendar.

“The steady sale of advance tickets to date is undoubtedly driven by a reputation for showcasing expert speakers of the highest calibre.  This year is set to be no exception, despite the ongoing challenging trading conditions which the energy industry continues to experience. Against this backdrop, we continue to be very grateful for the level of support which is forthcoming from the industry to the EI and we look forward to celebrating this relationship throughout 2017.”
