Thi Vai Terminal (PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal) is an important link in the chain, continuously operating in Bach Ho and Nam Con Son gas pipeline, with the capacity of 45% of total LPG storage capacity in the country, making an important contribution in implementing the task of ensuring national energy security and stabilizing the LPG market in the country.
PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal is located in Tan Phuoc Commune, Tan Thanh District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, operated since 2000. It is the largest Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and condensate storage in Vietnam aiming to store, export/import LPG, condensate products of Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant; Condensate of Nam Con Son Gas Plant and LPG import resource for ships and tanker trucks transporting to households.
In addition, PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal also provides VCM chemical import services to Phu My Plastics and Chemicals Co., Ltd (AGC Chemicals Viet Nam); import/export of petroleum products for PV Oil Phu My; exploit port services to customers as ships, tanker trucks and Cai Mep Industrial Zone.
Currently, PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal manages and operates: LPG pressurized storage (LPG and condensate of Cuu Long/Nam Con Son basin); LPG refrigerated imported from abroad; Go Dau storage (in Dong Nai Province) and auxiliary equipment; LPG charging station for Thi Vai tanker truck; product export/import port by ships with the capacity up to 60,000 DWT. Particularly, the LPG storage system with capacity of 75,000 tons (accounting for 45% of the total LPG storage capacity in Vietnam).
PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal is applied advanced technology and modern equipment, satisfying the strict requirements on safety and fire and explosion prevention. At present, PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal has applied and received the certificates of: Quality Management ISO-9001, OHSAS-18001 Safety by TUV Group in German since 2004 and re-assessed and certified by BSI every year; deploy and apply ISO 14001 standard, re- assessed and certified by BSI every year; issued a Certificate of Port Conformity by the Maritime Administration pursuant to the ISPS Code (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code); is a member of the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) since 2009 - PVGAS applies Ship Vetting Policy under the guidelines of OCIMF (Ship Inspection Report - SIRE) for conducting the ship safety inspection for about 100 international ship turns/year.
Thanks to a serious, systematic security and safety maintenance, during the operation, PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal operates continuously, fulfills its assigned tasks, constructs and maintains the Safety - Quality - Effectiveness culture. Every year, PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal receives an average of over 1,000 ship turns and about 20,000 tanker trucks. The output of goods exported/imported through the port contributes about 50% of LPG demand to Vietnam's domestic market (about 1 million tons/year), about 1/3 of material in PVC resin grain production in Vietnam (about 170,000 tons/year). In addition, 100% of condensate products from PV GAS, TNK/Rosneft and Bien Dong DPOC is outputted with the volume of 150,000 tons/year through the port (these are the only two condensate producers in Vietnam at present).
The above data shows that the investment in construction and efficiently operation of PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal has contributed significantly to PV GAS to expand the market, be active in business and hold the market share to coordinate the source of goods with large storage capacity, increase the storage capacity, contribute to ensuring the national energy security, enhancing the position and affirming the leading position of PV Gas on the LPG supply market in Vietnam as the developing orientation that Vietnam Oil and Gas Group has planned.
Not only that, with the strategic position in the gas collecting, transporting, processing and supplying chain, PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal has contributed to ensuring the safe LPG supply and consumption throughout the country, helping improve the gas value chain of Vietnam more perfect, contributing to the completion of the infrastructure system of the gas industry in the Southern key economic zone, the biggest LPG demand zone in the whole country. Moreover, the operation of the storage has created more jobs for a certain workforce in the locality.
