Fairfield Geotechnologies Expands Permian Data Coverage

New San Simon survey to begin in Northern Delaware Basin

HOUSTON, TEXAS 8 August 2018 — Fairfield Geotechnologies announces another multi-client project in Lea County, New Mexico.  The 145 square mile San Simon 3D survey, one of three ongoing surveys in the Delaware Basin, expands Fairfield Geotechnologies' regional coverage in the Greater Delaware Basin to 4,700 square miles.

Supported with industry prefunding, the survey is expected to begin layout by 10 August after months of preparation. The new survey is designed to tie seamlessly with the existing multi-client database, providing operators with regional, high-fold, full-azimuth seismic coverage.

Fairfield Geotechnologies' QI compliant processing sequence is specifically designed to address imaging problems caused by a complex near surface geology.  Additionally, Fairfield Geotechnologies anticipates a reduction in overall processing time due to a recent transition to cloud computing.

Joe Dryer, SVP and CSO of Fairfield Geotechnologies, sees a lot of potential in this region.  “With New Mexico oil production growing 30% in the last year, this is the next logical step in growing our data coverage.  The ability to tie seamlessly to our existing database and provide a QI compliant product nicely complements our partnership with Ikon Science. Our clients – from majors to small independent operators – will have a broader library of data and the geoprediction tools to make better decisions more quickly and confidently.”

The San Simon survey, to be acquired by Dawson Geophysical, is expected to be complete by January 2019. Fairfield Geotechnologies expects PSTM and PSDM data volumes will be available in early 2019.

Fairfield Geotechnologies has recently moved its headquarters to the Houston Energy Corridor, with sales staff representing Houston, Midland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Denver, Austin and Pittsburgh.  For more information on any of our programs, please visit our website at fairfieldgeo.com.
