The GoM Subsea Production Operations sub-function is seeking a Subsea System Operations Engineer. The individual will report directly to the System Operations Supervisor. The primary responsibility of the Subsea Production Operations sub-function is to deliver maximum value from our subsea operations by optimizing the balance between risk, production and cost, while delivering step changes in performance through innovation by our people.

The Subsea System Operations Team is accountable for the overall health and availability of the subsea systems. Members of this team are the key technical integrator between the other subsea operations teams (Hardware, Controls, Pipeline/Flowline/Risers) for the multiple subsea assets in the GoM region (within Atlantis, NaKika and Thunder Horse areas). The engineer will work across all three GoM infrastructures, responsible for providing support in delivery of optimization, troubleshooting, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the infrastructure, while remaining compliant with the OMS framework. Improvement of system availability by risk mitigation, elimination of defects, and reduced Mean Time to Repair is a key focus area for all Subsea System Operation Engineers.

The primary responsibilities of the Subsea Operations Engineer include but is not limited to the following:

* Demonstrate safe work practices.
* Actively support the achievement of the BPs HSSE performance goals and standards and commitment to BP and Industry safety principles and procedures.
* Support the delivery, maintenance and utilization of subsea site operating procedures (SOPs) and technical drawings when and where required.
* Conduct condition monitoring, diagnostics and resolution of operational issues for Subsea Systems, integration with SSOPs Engineering and Projects Teams and service providers (GSS/GSE) in support of the AOM to manage risks in compliance with practices.
* Work closely with cross-functional (GPO, GOO, GWO, GSS, GSE) and cross-discipline (Area Teams, BMT, Flow Assurance, Hardware, Subsea Controls, etc.) representatives to steward plans and procedures for subsea interventions and offshore execution activities.
* Actively participate in all relevant and applicable HAZIDS, HAZOPS, and risk assessments.
* Incorporate lessons learned and best practices from BP and Industry.
* Understand, follow, implement, and reinforce use of BP Management of Change process.
* Support the operational interfaces between the subsea systems and the topsides facilities.

BS Degree in engineering

* 3 + years of experience in subsea engineering, cross-functional operations or having relevant industry experience
* Knowledgeable of the various types of equipment within a subsea infrastructure, including instrumentation and controls
* Demonstrated ability to network and influence across organizational boundaries
