BP has centralized the North America Rail and Truck (NA Rail & Truck) team primarily based in Chicago, IL. This team handles freight (rail and truck), rail equipment and truck scheduling and logistics safety for multiple BP's entities in North America. BP's rail and truck activities over the last few years have continued to grow with many entities exploring / delivering business development opportunities, BP refineries increasing production, Retail growing sites and supply chains requiring more attention.

The Business Performance Lead is responsible providing visibility and connectivity in support of the services we provide as NA Logistics and thus has accountabilities which encompass managing financials (budgets, variance analysis, et al), performance reporting (Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), dashboards, et al) and Engagement Sessions with the businesses we serve. The role is also accountable for leading Continuous Improvement projects and Modernization efforts through applying increased automation, process simplification and robust analytics.

  • Lead CI projects directed at the modernization of key processes and activities so to leverage automation and deliver simplification in the service of providing greater insight as to business performance, both operational and financial.
  • Serve as a "trailblazer" in applying new and emerging technologies such as Blockchain, Office 365 (OneNote, Teams, PowerBI) and centralized information management (e.g., Data Lake)
  • Lead the continued evolution and stabilization internal performance management processes including KPIs, benchmarking and effective performance reporting (Truck Logistics, NA Rail Dashboard, Rail Procure to Pay Dashboard and HSSE & Operational Metrics)
  • Serve as SPA and facilitator of the Stakeholder Engagement Sessions (Ethanol, Retail, AirBP, Petrochemicals, Specialty Products, IST NAGP, IST GOA and BP sites w Rail)
  • Lead identifying, capturing, tracking, and reporting savings for NA Rail and Truck projects and work closely with Logistics Procurement to ensure alignment.)
  • Serve as SPA for NA Rail and NA Truck finance related activities including budgeting and allocation process, spend management / interventions and distribution to Businesses in a timely manner
    • Lead the development and submission of Annual Budgets (NA Rail, NA Truck and NA Logistics Organizational Costs) and GFO updates
    • Work with Finance in providing insight into variances of plan vs actual.
    • Maintain and execute model for charging out NA Truck overhead expenses to stakeholders
  • Work closely with Truck & Rail Safety advisors and the BP Businesses to support the delivery of the HSSE agenda (e.g. IRIS record review / classification, HSSE and Operational Metrics etc.)
  • Support new business supply chains (e.g., Mexico, Retail Growth, Air BP, et al.)
  • Manage Ad Hoc request by the businesses served specific to performance reporting for both NA Rail and NA Truck
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: MBA
Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of logistics/supply chain experience
  • Minimum 3 years of business performance experience
